Past Lives or Reincarnation. Is it real? What are my views?

Please do bear in mind, these are my opinions and views and to not be taken as fact.

If you are interested in studying or researching past lives or genetic memory? The internet and libraries are chock full of information on these topics. I would warn you however of three big things in regards to past life research:

  1. Do not expect someone else to have the answers for you. This is research for you to do yourself. You cannot or should not expect to pay someone to look deep into your past to find out if you were Cleopatra or Marie Antoinette, because then this is someone putting THEIR opinions into YOUR frame of mind. Any research you wish to desire about you? Look it up for yourself.

  2. Sometimes overactive imaginations breed wandering off on tangents. You may just have a really creative imagination that may go overboard to try to explain why you are the way you are by blaming a past life as to why you are a jerk today.

  3. THE MOST IMPORTANT: Do not DWELL and spend all your time in THIS life trying to find out what went wrong in the last one. You may as well get over it and move along and enjoy the life that you are having now instead of trying to figure out what happened in the past. That’s why it’s called the past. That’s why today is a present. This knowledge came from Kung Fu Panda.

NOW. Do I believe in past lives? Yes. I do. The universe is big we have an infinite inner space, a universe, time – outer space and dimensions…eternity and spaces are intertwined everything is infinite and finite at the same time…but there are many things in many religions that all seem to have varying similarity:

A well of souls. A flood. An end and a rebirth.

My personal theory is that we come from the Guff or Guf. This can ironically be compared to the urn that Aquarius is carrying in the horoscope as well as the jar (NOT BOX) that Pandora accidentally opened.

Guf is a Hebrew word, meaning “body”. In Jewish mysticism the Chamber of Guf, also called the Otzar, is the Treasury of Souls, located in the Seventh Heaven According to Jewish mythology, in the Garden of Eden there is a Tree of life or the “Tree of Souls” that blossoms and produces new souls, which fall into the Guf, the “Treasury of Souls”. Gabriel reaches into the treasury and takes out the first soul that comes into his hand. Then Lailah, the Angel of Conception, watches over the embryo until it is born.

YAY Wikepedia strikes again!

There is a movie in the 1980s called “The Seventh Sign” with Demi Moore and they briefly discuss the Guf and the end of days – Not my favorite film, but it was the first time I learned about the Guf though. Most of my life is attached to films or comic books/graphic novels that make it more easier to explain my views/opinions.

Isn’t it interesting that in Greek mythos that we are made of clay from Zeus and he then breathes the breath of life into us…hmmm isn’t it also interesting that Theres is a tree of life in the Viking culture similar to the Tree of life in Jewish mysticism…coincidence? Ummm I don’t think so.

Ask your local rabbi about the Guf or just go look it up.

I do not believe that EVERYONE gets reincarnated. It’s a mash up of sorts. I think this is how we get déjà vu and feeling like we have a link to others that we hit it off instantly…or those we cannot stand instantly either. Some spirits want to stay ghosts? Some want to come back? Some live in hells of their own making? Some ascend or descend. Some just go with the flow and bond with the universe? It’s all about choice. We have choices in life. The deities that are gave us CHOICE, right? Why wouldn’t it be the same after death?

What’s the deal with genetic memory? The concept of genetic memory is that because out mind is over millions of years old? Sometimes genetically we remember images or things that our ancestors did or do. I think that some genetic memories get mistaken for past lives…or vice versa. I also think some past lives may be mistaken for dissociative personality disorder or vice versa. I also believe that channeling is like possession – which is nine tenths of the law.

Time is also relative too. While I am talking right now? At this exact time somewhere else? The future is also happening. Also possibly the past as well. Hooray for interdimensional and time/space being all made out of the same things … I don’t want to get into that…too complex.

I think that there have been several movies that explain past lives fairly well. My personal favorite is the movie “Dead Again” with Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Derek Jacobi and the late Robin Williams.

Bear in mind, this film is a thriller from the 1980s early 1990s so ignore the fact that Gilderoy Lockhart has an American accent and Professor Trelawny has a special love for scissors. I suggest that you watch it – Robin Williams gives a perfect example as to talking about past life regression and speaks of a sample case about someone who had a problem in this life that when regressed through hypnosis went into a past life and conquered their fear.

Robin Williams was also in another movie called “What Dreams May Come” that may also explain death and the afterlife in possibly the best way possible for some. But anyway. MY OPINION.

The fact is – there have been cases of past lives fixing problems for people today. Children have had past lives and remember things that there is NO way possible they should know. But again, the internet and books have tons of data in regards to this research.

I myself have experienced going somewhere I have never been before and knowing everything in detail. The first time I went to vacation to New Orleans 1990 – I knew where EVERYTHING was. I walked past this place Jean Lafittes Absinthe House – the SMELL brought back a land slide of memories that I didn’t know as my own. The costumes, the air, the sounds…just a windfall of memories all at once. I knew where things just were around there after that. And I had never been to New Orleans before in my life. The minute I had gotten off the street car to the French Quarter I even said: “I’m Home”. Is it genetic memory or past life? I don’t believe I will ever really know the difference? But it was a very overpowering feeling.

I also knew my life partner from a past life also – I was driving around San Luis Obispo with some friends (Before I met my life partner actually) and I saw this tree on the way home and just started to cry. My friend asked me what was wrong and I said – You see this tree? This was where I died. I looked up cases in the area to see if there had been a crash or something by this tree…sure enough there had been a bootlegger accident where a girl who had been a theatre person that was killed due to a drunk driver coming from a party up north. She had been dating a bootlegger who soon passed away afterwards.

So yeah. Not the most fun past life. But I’m trying to make up for it now.

I also believe in future life as well. Because everything in time lines are all happening at the same time anyway. You have to have a future life also.

So when asked who would I have liked to have been in a past life? I think I will just settle with just being myself for right now? Because I’m the most important one currently. The past lives had their time already and the future hasn’t happened yet. At least in THIS reality.
